Luxury off-grid accommodation in jaw dropping lake district locations, from the top of mountains to the centre of lakes.

 

1.   How do I find the shelter?

2.   Will there be any food upon arrival?

Answer 1. Go to our loations page, click on your required location pin on the map, and then the route button on the top left, this will redirect you and give you directions from your required location.

Answer 2 . There is a small hamper of Monmouth espresso, farrers tea, sugar,milk, eggs, bread, butter, claires raspberry jam to get you started

Answer 3. You will be met on arrival by one of our team who will guide you through the basics of how everything works, but there is a also a full digital information pack with everything you need to know as well as a contact number for a 24hr help line

Answer 4. Simple answer is you wont, there is a large amount of gas and water stored on board and a huge solar array that is more than adequte even in the depth of winter

Answer 5. There is 24hr assistance and, one of our team can usually be at you location within the hour, even in the most remote locations in the harshest of weather we have off road vehicles capable of transversing the terrain

answer 6. There are no washing facilities, however if we can provide a laundry collection and return service for a small charge

Answer 7. Yes there are 240v sockets for laptops, chargers etc

Answer 8. We ask you not to use straightners and hairdryers as the power consumption is so great-just a small sacrifice to be off grid in these locations

Answer 9. The Compost toilet is easy to use and we think the best solution for being off grid, dont worry there is no smell and is fully cleaned a renewed after every stay. Upon arrival a team member will give a full explantion of how it works, in addition there are instructions in the digital info pack in the room.

Answer 10. You can book additional items by ticking the relevant bok when booing online, if there are any special requests please drop us an email with your your booking refernece number and we will try our best to help

Answer 11. Just go on to our locations page and there is a map with all the locations available

Answer 12. Yes, there is parking at at all of the locations

Answer 13. Hinterlandes means an area lying beyond what is visible or known

Answer 14. Yes, are powerfull wood stoves and ovens to keep you toasty warm through winter

Answer 15. Check in is 1.00pm and check out is 10.00am

Answer 16. There is a minimum stay of 2 nights

Answer 17. Yes they are completely off grid and leave no footprint of where they have been. Electricity comes from solar pannels or wind generators, gas comes from onboard storage tanks for the hot water, logs are used for the wood burners for heating and cooking and we deliver water to the large storage tanks. Any grey water waste water is stored in tanks and taken away to be desposed off correctly
