The Bus
The perfect couples’ getaway.
The bus is a converted bluebird minibird conversion that spent the latter years of its life as a church bus. It’s a short bus with a 1982 T25 vanagon fixed to the roof as the bedroom area, this sounds a bit wild but makes sense, it means the bus is able to get around tight country roads and it keeps the bedroom area separate from the living, kitchen area. It has been built using local larch and oak, reclaimed oak strip flooring, honed marble tilled wetroom, doors from the famous hempel hotel , salvaged 1950’s bulkhead lights from a german cargo ship and reclaimed handles, taps and sinks. a classic norwegian jutul 601 wood burning stove Designed in the lated 1930's by architects Blakstad og Munthe-Kaas, an esse plus 1 woodburning cooker, Shackleton and Scott relied on an ESSE in the Antarctic, and Florence Nightingale would use no other brand in her Balaclava hospital. Instant hot water, fridge/freezer, composting toilet duck feather cushions, pillows and duvets, linen fabrics, Egyptian cotton towels, Aesop soaps and shower gels….
(All our shelters/rooms come with a small hamper of Monmouth espresso, farrers tea, sugar, milk, eggs, bread, butter, claires raspberry jam to get you started)
