ABOUT

Citara is a 36ft VICTORIAN GAFF CUTTER designed and built in 1887 by Aldous & Sons, Brightlingsea, Essex. Located in Whitehaven Marina at the edge of the Lake District. This yacht is steeped in history and is currently undergoing the last section of a £175,000 restoration. Sleep while listening to the gentle creaking of wood and dine on deck under the stars. Don’t want to stay put? Citara will also be available for charter and is an excellent location to visit the picturesque Isle of Man, Kirkcudbright and Whithorn in Scotland and within easy sailing distance of Bangor in Northern Ireland and Conwy in North Wales as well as locations further afield.

HOW IT ALL WORKS

Once you have booked your selected dates follow the directions below to the Marina. There is secure parking on site at the Bulwark Quay. One of our team will be there to meet you, give you the key fob for the gate, hand over the keys and answer any questions you may have. If you are arriving by train, it is only a short walk to the Marina. Follow the relevant markers to your berth. The heat and lights will be on when you arrive along with a welcome hamper with some necessities. Although Citara can be completely off-grid when she is sailing, we leave her connected to shore power in the Marina so straighteners and other high power items can be used. There is an iPad on board that has instructions on how to use the cooker, heating and other appliances. We supply 24hr support if there are questions or issues. There is no shower on Citara but you will have full access to the private male and female showers at the Marina. You will also have access to the private laundrette at the Marina.
